Hotel Wi-Fi installation

Hotel Wi-Fi that reaches every guest room, copes with a full function suite and keeps guests well away from your own systems.

Hotel Wi-Fi installation covers guest rooms, public areas, function rooms and grounds, with guest traffic kept separate from the systems the hotel runs on. Asptech surveys, installs and manages Wi-Fi for hotels, inns and hospitality venues across the UK.

Why hotels are different

  • Guest rooms are hard to reach

Fire doors, bathroom tiles, mirrors and solid walls between rooms all block signal. An access point in the corridor rarely reaches the far side of the bed, which is exactly where the complaint comes from.

  • Guests judge you on it

Wi-Fi turns up in reviews more than almost any other facility. Guests stream in the evening on several devices each, and every room tends to do it at the same time.

  • Function rooms spike

A conference or a wedding can put hundreds of devices into one room for an afternoon. That space is designed for its busiest day, not its usual one.

  • Guests must not see your systems

Guest devices should be isolated from each other and from everything the hotel runs — the property management system, tills, card terminals, door locks and CCTV.

  • Older buildings

Many hotels are converted or listed buildings, where thick walls are the norm and visible cabling is unwelcome. Installation has to be discreet as well as effective.

  • Rooms cannot be out of action

Every room closed for installation is revenue lost. Work is planned around occupancy, floor by floor.

How we handle it

In most hotels the reliable answer is an access point in or close to each room rather than a few powerful ones in the corridor, using fittings that do not look out of place. We plan that against your bookings so rooms come back into service the same day.

Guest access can be as simple or as polished as you like — a password on the key card wallet, or a sign-in page with your branding. Bandwidth is shared fairly so one guest’s download does not slow the floor, and staff and payment systems sit on networks guests cannot reach.

Hotel Wi-Fi complaints arrive at eleven at night, not eleven in the morning. Managed Wi-Fi can include out-of-hours support, set to the hours that matter to you.

Common questions

Do we need an access point in every room?
Not always, but often. It depends on the construction. The survey shows which rooms can be covered from the corridor and which cannot, so you do not pay for more than you need.
Can guests and card machines share a network?
They should not. Card payments, tills and your management systems belong on a separate network that guests have no route to.
Can you work around our bookings?
Yes. We install floor by floor in line with your occupancy, so rooms are back in service the same day.

Book a Wi-Fi survey

Every installation starts with a survey of the space, indoors, outdoors or both. Tell us about the site and we will arrange a visit.

  • Business Wi-Fi survey

An on-site survey of your premises, indoors, outdoors or both — measured coverage, a placement plan and a quote you can act on.

  • Outdoor Wi-Fi installation

Outdoor Wi-Fi for yards, car parks, gardens, grounds and the gaps between buildings — weatherproof, properly powered and built to last.

  • Office Wi-Fi installation

Office Wi-Fi designed for video calls, hot desks and full meeting rooms — with secure staff sign-in and a separate guest network.

  • Warehouse Wi-Fi installation

Warehouse Wi-Fi designed around high racking, changing stock and handheld scanners — surveyed, installed, then managed or handed over.
