Office Wi-Fi installation

Office Wi-Fi designed for video calls, hot desks and full meeting rooms — with secure staff sign-in and a separate guest network.

Office Wi-Fi installation means surveying the floor, placing access points for the number of people and devices that actually use each space, and configuring secure staff and guest networks. Asptech designs and installs office Wi-Fi across the UK, then manages it or hands it over.

What makes office Wi-Fi hard

  • Wi-Fi is now the main network

Hot desks, docking stations and laptops mean the wireless network carries most of the office, not just phones. It has to be designed as the primary network, because it is.

  • Video calls

Calls do not tolerate a brief drop or a congested channel the way email did. Moving between access points has to be seamless, or the call freezes on the walk to the meeting room.

  • Meeting rooms fill up

A boardroom is empty most of the day and then holds twenty devices at once. Capacity is planned for the peak, not the average.

  • Neighbouring networks

In shared and multi-tenant buildings, every other office’s Wi-Fi competes for the same channels. Channel planning and sensible power settings matter more than raw signal.

  • Shared passwords

One office Wi-Fi password ends up on every personal phone and never changes when people leave. Staff should sign in with their own accounts, so a leaver loses access automatically.

  • Landlord constraints

Leased and serviced offices often limit where cable can run and what can be fixed to the ceiling. We work within the lease, and with the landlord where we need to.

How we handle it

Staff Wi-Fi can sign in with the same Microsoft 365 accounts people already use, so access follows the person and ends when their account does. Visitors get a separate guest network with internet access and no route to your files, printers or systems.

If you are moving or refitting, talk to us before the ceilings close. Cable for access points is cheap to run during a fit-out and disruptive to add afterwards.

Common questions

Our Wi-Fi drops when people move between rooms. Why?
Usually access points that are set too powerful or badly placed, so devices cling to a distant one instead of moving to the nearer one. It is a design and configuration problem, and a survey normally finds it quickly.
Do we still need wired desk points?
Fewer than you used to. Fixed equipment such as printers, desk phones and screens is usually better wired, but most staff can work entirely on Wi-Fi if the network is designed for it.
Can visitors use our Wi-Fi safely?
Yes, on a separate guest network. They get internet access; they cannot see your devices, files or systems.

Book a Wi-Fi survey

Every installation starts with a survey of the space, indoors, outdoors or both. Tell us about the site and we will arrange a visit.

  • Business Wi-Fi survey

An on-site survey of your premises, indoors, outdoors or both — measured coverage, a placement plan and a quote you can act on.

  • Warehouse Wi-Fi installation

Warehouse Wi-Fi designed around high racking, changing stock and handheld scanners — surveyed, installed, then managed or handed over.

  • Hotel Wi-Fi installation

Hotel Wi-Fi that reaches every guest room, copes with a full function suite and keeps guests well away from your own systems.

  • Outdoor Wi-Fi installation

Outdoor Wi-Fi for yards, car parks, gardens, grounds and the gaps between buildings — weatherproof, properly powered and built to last.

  • Business internet for offices

Office connectivity for teams of twenty and up: enough upload for Teams and the cloud, a backup that genuinely works, and one team handling faults end to end.
